The Beneficial Foundation is a Portsmouth based Registered Charity, established over 28 years ago to provide education, training and rehabilitation to people of all ages who are in need. It seeks to assist the disadvantaged, particularly those with learning difficulties and other disabilities.

The Foundation encourages the personal development of Trainees, giving them every opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications through the Open College Network. Courses are available both at the Portsmouth Training Centre and the Horticultural Training Centre. The Foundation's aim is to enable Trainees to progress into paid employment, improving both their quality of life and the positive contribution to the community that they are all able to make.

The Foundation, during 2006, established a number of Social Firms, where Trainees and other disadvantaged local people can further develop their skills, work ethic, confidence and self-worth and thus progress towards paid employment. We then continued to look for and develop more social enterprises throughout 2007. Check out for our new project called T.A.G. I.T. within the Craft Shop in the Materials Bank & Craft Centre.
